Information on ADOPTING
a bulldog from Bulldog Rescue – Most of the bulldogs
surrendered to Rescue are 3+ years of age. We sometimes get bulldogs
under the age of 2 but we rarely get puppies. The bulldogs that
we
receive from their Owners sometimes have minor problems, but mainly
they just need a good loving home. Bulldogs that we receive from
Animal
Control or other types of animal shelters, however, usually have
more serious physical or behavioral problems. These dogs need good
homes
that are willing to give them lots of loving care. Rescue
will never, knowingly, adopt out a viscous or dangerous bulldog.
Most of the time Bulldog Rescue will have anywhere from 1 to 5 bulldogs
available for adoption. There are times when we have no dogs available
and there are times when we might have 10+ bulldogs needing homes.
The cost of adopting a rescue bulldog is paid via a donation to
Bulldog Rescue. Donations are used to offset Rescue’s medical
expenses incurred in caring for surrendered bulldogs. Adoption
donations are
determined on a sliding scale from $150.00 to $700.00 depending
upon the age, physical and medical condition of the dog. The average
adoption
donation ranges from $250.00 to $400.00. All bulldogs are
spayed/neutered prior to placement and all are placed in homes
that
fit the bulldog’s particular needs.
